The Verdict:

I had never tried Shoryu until about 2 months ago would you believe, mainly because I didn’t really rate ramen as a dish, I always found that it was quite bland and I always had to add a thousand condiments but not here, not at Shoryu. Coming back for brunch, I didn’t know what to expect. Although this was an invite but I can safely say that for £38, you absolutely get your money’s worth, we had to put two tables together just to fit the food we (me and my sister) ordered and we got to try one of everything apart from the white natural and piri-piri ramens.

The stand out items were of course the mini ramens, halloumi buns, tiger prawn tempura and takoyaki. Takoyaki are these insane wheat-floured balls of goodness, typically filled with minced or diced octopus, tempura scraps, pickled ginger, and green onion and thank me later for picking them. Since then I have been singing Shoryu’s praises and recommending it left, right and centre to anyone who asks!
